昨天終於結束了五天的研習加上暑假的五天,把一些研習中所的的新東西及遊戲活動稍做紀錄 新觀念部分: 
1. Shopping list: 
      Language use:  Do you have _______?  Yes, I do.
                                    How much is ________?
                                    It's ___________.
     1-1 Set four students as the shop with a menu of different prices for goods
     1-2 Have students hold a shopping list 
     1-3 The ones with the shopping list have to make the best budget by walking around to ask the cheapest   price
     1-4 Teacher will exaim the students spend and announce or check what the cheapest price

       I think it's realy a good activity to provide the authentic language usage and give students opportunity to  mimgle around and use the language required to make the shopping conversation

2. Make your own chant
    2-1  Grammar chant
            Steps: 
            1. Select a grammar point that you are currently teaching in class and wish to reforince with a chant.   e.g.  simple present tense
            2. Select a subject whick relates to the daily life of the students e.g.  learning English 
            3. Write three sentences about the subject, using the structure you have chosen. E.g. He speaks English.  He studies English everyday.  He watched Tv in English every night.
            4. Then change your statements into questions, creating a simple dialouge with a short positive response.  E.g.  Does he speak Englsih?  Yes, he does.
            5.  Add a simple positive statement to follow hte short response.  E.g.  Yes, he does!  He speaks it very well.
            6. Finally, replace the subject pronoun with one of your student's name.

          This is what we made in our group,
  
          I want a pen.
          He wants a bike.
          She wants a bag.
          Do you want a pen? 
          Yes, I do.  I want a blue pen.
          Does he want a bike? 
          Yes, he does! He wants a  blue bike.
          Does she want a bag? 
          Yes, she does! She wants a blue bag.
   2-2 Make a chant for "Sound" 
       1.  Select a sound that you are currently teaching in class and wish to reinforce with a chant. e.g.  sh/ch
       2. Make a list of words which use those sounds.
       3. Try combining these words into a chant, adding appropriate language to create an image.  E.g.    Fresh fish, fresh fish, for breakfast, Fresh fish, fresh fish for lunch
       
  2-3.  Make a chant for Vocabulary
        1. Select a topic which relateds to your students daily activities. E.g.  classroom objects
        2. Write a list of items which relates to this area.  Divide your list into words of one /two/three syllables.
        3. Your chant will consist of three words.  The first should have two syllables, the second should have three syllables and the third has one syllable.

        There's an example from other group of the class.
      
         Rabbit, crocodile, dog, woof! *2
       Rabbit, crocodile, ouch!*2
       Rabbit, crocodile, dog, Phew! *2

十天的研習獲得很多觀念重組,例如Group work的嘗試,其實一直沒有勇氣嘗試小組活動,可能是因為一值都教低年級的關係,不過研習完覺得應該要有冒險的精神,要有不怕吵的勇氣。研習中,John教受大部分的課程,印象深刻的一課是他提到situational Presentation!

What is situational Presentation?
1. Teahcer draw soemething on the board to build a situation.
2. Teacher give a elicit / tell (if students  don't know)
3. Teacher has to try to get something from students.
E.g.   T: Who is he?   S: A dog.
              T: What's his name?   S: Snoopy.
              T: What happen to him?  S: He is crying.
              T: Why is he crying?  S: Because he gets lost!  ....
I like this approach!  You can find some other things to replace the drawing if you are not good at drawing such as the photoes, newspapers, ....

還有一個教具利用我也很喜歡,是由Steven提供的,是關於小白板的運用,小白板可以用一張白紙放進一個透明資料夾,就變成了小白板,發張衛生紙給學生變成板擦! 可以運用在很多小活動上!
